Vulgaris by ~WestLothian Suggester writes: "The details are amazing and so beautiful! I just love all the details on the feathers." I have to agree, wait until you all see the full view on this, this will slam your eyeballs with detail so rich, you will have nothing short of a complete eyegasm! It is utterly remarkable! When people see these birds every day I think they take them for granted and really overlook just how beautiful they are. They really are quite stunning, like little jewels in the every day urban greys and whites of the city. Great shot :)

Yes, I agree. They have colours and markings that go beyond our vision in every sense. Thank you :)

Wow! Absolutely stunning photograph!

...Though vulgaris is certainly right. These birds are one of the most damaging invasive species in North America.

They are noisy, greedy and messy too!
They do look spectacular when they swarm in large flocks against a sunset. :D

Thanks for your kind comment.

This is just brilliant in full view, the detail is so sharp.
Can i ask what kind of lens did you use? i am looking at long lenses just now for a bit of wildlife but feel a zoom rather than a fixed focal length would do me better, but there are so many solutions.

Nice work

This was taken with the older 70-200mm with a teleconverter fitted (1.7).
I now would use the 300mm prime but it is a lot heavier to carry.

Woh! I thought this was a painting first. We see so many starlings we don't realize they are actually this beautiful. (as long as we don't park our cars under their trees!)
